Dear Knut,
Thank you for your reply.
Generally the attendee should not bring their pet in our conference, sorry about this.
Best wishes,
Ella

All right!  Let's be a little funny:

Hi Ella,

Thank you for the information.  This is good to know.  It seems that there are issues with bringing
a pet to China and knowing that dogs are being served rather hot in your country, we decided to leave
him at home so he is not getting traumatized when looking at the lunch menu.

We are looking forward to our trip - all this planning and the conversations have been a lot of fun
so far.  I am glad that Bit took the bug, so to say ;-)

Regards,

I signed with my real name!!!
ok - they did not get the whole thing thus far, so nothing to worry in my mind...

Need to register at a later date - a nice conversation with Ella...

Yeah, right - they want the money.
Let's try to win some time (bringing wife and dog might pose a problem)...

Hi Ella,

I am still waiting for word from my wife Wendy Wilcox.  She is planning to join me on my trip and may attend the conference as well.
Since it is not yet clear whether she will be able to join, I will very likely register at a later time together with her.  This is all fine because
my department is covering the costs and they do not require me to take the early registration.  She also plans to bring her little dog, but
on the other hand, she is not sure about regulations - we hope to find out.

I am also still working with planning a little vacation in your country after or before the conference.  It seems that driving in China is
different than in the rural and desert areas of the United States, but I am making progress with planning the trip.

With best wishes,
- Knut

The time allot for your speech is 20-25 minutes. We have updated the program and released the information online:

And - unbelievable!  They have added the whole thing into the program.
Again, my apologies to Oleg (He must know that I am just an annoying small bug) and apologies as well to Andrew.

On another note, I continue to receive invitations from BIT for other conferences, but also there are some invitations to Romania ("the land of Dracula" it said), Greece, and India.  This "business" must really be booming and I fear that over time, this sneaky strategy really pays off.

Still, it is annoying and these places simply do not take your e-mail off their spam lists... perhaps I should play this with another one of these spammers as well.  If I just had the time...
